To create a sense of escape from the city life below, I’ve chosen a limited palette of natural materials and soft hues, with delicate textures and craftsmanship. The most tactile surfaces in a hotel room are the headboard, walls and bathroom tiles, so I used timber panelling for the headboard and the adjacent wall as well as a burnt orange handmade tile in the bathroom.
